Mehul Botadra:

The blue sky had always fascinated me. I got a chance to fabricate and fly a mini-mean machine through the Aeromodelling Club, K. J. Somaiya College of Engineering. Yash had been the pillar of support! I remember him telling in the 1st session itself, " Guys, its not a lecture! Your interest is what drives you here, make the best of it!". Apart from assuming the name "Team Ferrari", we worked hard to work on this wonderful "Sky Bee". From sanding the wings to final paint job, Yash mediated it all, with a solid temperament. We made the IC Engine lab our 2nd home. After months of patience and toiling and some EXTRA PAINT!, the flying wonder was ready with an awesome 3.5cc engine powered by Ether, kerosene and Castor Oil. The Red Baron also served as a source of inspiration for the colour palette and design. It was a fun-filled workshop with lots of new things to learn. A completely new experience with a different set of challenges to tackle. Yash serves as the perfect guide for the project. He has moulded us into a structure, as efficient as the Aerofoil!

Nirav Gangar:

I always had a thing for aero plane, aeromodelling n so on.  And my dream came true when this club was first started in our college. I was the first person 2 enroll in the club and I never looked back. The club was like fun-n-learn, where we learned a lot as well as had a lot of fun. We learned what aeromodelling is? What r the parts of a plane? And related FAQ’s…. We came 2 know abt the different competitions held across the world n also the prize money won by YASH (just jokinn).Making your own plane n testing it is just a complete diff. experience, I was on the 9th heaven. I just can’t tell u the feeling I had when my plane was tested. Hearing the ENGINE ROAR n the whole college stop by 2 see you fly, gets u a complete diff. respect. But whole-n-soul AEROMODELLING CLUB ROCKZ!! So if u r interested in aeromodelling I would definitely c u at the club.
Nakul Kothari:

It all started with the line "its not a lecture guys, it's a friend talk, " and since then I developed a profound interest in a NOT SO HEARD OF HOBBY called AEROMODELLING. Just like associating the color red with apple, relativity with Einstein, I have started associating aeromodelling with yash mulgaonkar.

AEROMODELLING CLUB, another part of SAE,KJSCE  took us by surprise when came on charts in college. The word aeromodelling rang a bell in many, but not me, still  I joined the club under the SHEAR FORCE of my friends. on the very first meet at the ic engine lab jeet our SAE head, introduced us to yash and then he took over. In the very first meeting that guys passion for making planes   , knowledge regarding the flying beasts and talks of all those competitions he had won grew an undying  interest and curiosity in planes. We all new planes could fly, but HOW??????????????.......... was answered by yash.

Then after filling us with all must-know-stuff about flying, the physics involved in flying, different parts of a plane, raw material to be used ,we formed a team of five and started AEROMODELLING under the guidance of yash. we started with sanding the aerofoil, wings, rudders and  moving on to fixing the-once spare parts into a plane.well that it self took us some 5 hours, that is 3 meets. but then time was not a factor as interest and shear imagination of flying our first self aeromodelled  plane had taken over.

Then one fine day , after getting done with wheels and carving a slot for the 3.5cc engine, Came the important task of fixing the wings with the aerofoil. Inspite of repeated warnings to go slowly into the gap for the wings one of our team member happened to crack the aerofoil!!!................. silence………….. that was our first and the most obvious reaction. That meant our end in the workshop. But yash with his tremendous experience and  skills, himself made our plane, flyable. (MAN HE REALLY TREATS A PLANE LIKE HIS(dream)GIRLFRIEND).

Then on with his inputs and ours we painted our plane red with white lining and after a month's of work and effort , team ferrari's (our teams name)plane was finally made, just left with fixing of 3.5cc engine guzzling ether, kerosene and castor oil.

Finally came the fly day. Standing in middle of a ground as big as two football fields , and with atleast  a 100 spectators around him, yash once again flew the plane with success and our new found interest in aeromodelling got new wings.

All in all  the workshop was a complete rollercoaster ride filled with  excitement, challenges and most importantly a great learning experience.
